Some girl gurl reblogged my stupid lipsyncing rap video (http://redheadsaid.tumblr.com/post/25628814371/it-was-either-rap-or-eat-for-once-i-decided-to) and commented that I should gtfo becuz azealia be on her black girl shit and i don’t know nuthin bout that.
Or something to that effect.
LOL.
Part of me was annoyed, but only annoyed at how annoyed she was. I would message her about how stupid it is that she couldn’t see how stupid that is because Azealia Banks is awesome and I can’t help it if I want to be her and how me being white (even though I’m technically Latina WHAT WHAT chica didn’t see that one coming, ay no papi Dios mio) shouldn’t have anything to do with that…but I’m way too lazy and don’t feel like starting a possibly racial thing with some stranger on the internet.
Don’t make this a race thing, gurl. I ain’t tryin to steal yo idolz from you. I can’t even rap and I ain’t even gonna try and rap because it’s not worth my time to put that much effort into something that I already know I cannot do. I’m not that stupid, is what I’m saying. I have way too much respect for Azealia to try and compete with that much talent, which is why I have to fall back on learning her lyrics so that I can more fully appreciate said talent.
Anyway, don’t you know it’s a sign of success for a black rapper when middle class white kids start listening up? I’m not saying that’s not dumb or ironic or stupid, because it is, but the fact is that 1. I’m white (kind of sorta yes) and 2. I like Azealia Banks too, and 3. I felt like fooling around, so I put something on the internet of me that represented all of the above. Lord knows that’s not the first stupid thing posted on the Internet out of boredom; mine, at least, has no malicious intent behind it.
As a final note, I better not catch you making any lipsyncing videos to Shakira or Ke$ha.
